The 23rd World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems will be in Melbourne, 10 to 14 October, 2016. In recognition of Melbourne’s reputation as the world’s most liveable city, the 2016 Congress theme will be ITS – Enhancing Liveable Cities and Communities. The Congress brings together 7,000 Australian and international ITS professionals for a comprehensive week long program.

More than 900 discussions will include Keynote and executive speakers, and special interest sessions. More than 300 exhibitors will showcase innovations and new technology at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and delegates will have the opportunity to experience behind-the-scenes technical tours to key transport and infrastructure centres.

The program will cover four key ITS topics including Automated and Connected Vehicles, Smart Cities, Connective and Big Data and Mobility as a Service. The Congress will be attended by domestic and global government representatives, agencies, organisations and business. In addition, there’s an extensive student program and open for public days.
The app will enable delegates to manage their time in Melbourne, view the program on the go, set up their itinerary and make the most of the networking opportunities. New features will be added in the build up to the World Congress.
ITS Australia, host of the World Congress on behalf of ITS Asia Pacific, is the country’s largest single gathering of private companies, government authorities and academic institutions dedicated to the research, development and deployment of ITS technologies in Australia. Affiliated with regional ITS organisations, namely ITS America, ITS Asia Pacific and ERTICO, ITS Australia is a major contributor to the development of the local and international industry, working in collaboration with governments, industry, business and communities.

Among the services ITS Australia provides to members are the organising and management of practical initiatives, networking opportunities, being a central voice and focal point, supporting R&D, innovation and evaluation of domestic and international standards.
